Here's How It Went DOWN

7:30 Thursday night- we find the PERFECT tree

6:00 Friday night- I break down and purchase my first strands of LED lights.... warm white.

6:58 Friday night- I plug in the first strand of LED lights and am blinded..... knowing I have to mix the white with the multi-colored.  The warm white doesn't seem so warm.

7:00 Friday night- I start decorating the tree.  First, I start with colored lights, then add 3 strands of the very bright LED lights.  Then, I add all of the ornaments and put the angel on top.

10:30 Friday night- As Steve and I sit and admire the lights and we begin to get in the Christmas spirit, the tree tips over and crashes to the ground.

10:31 Friday night- My first instinct is to grab the camera and take a picture... until Steve snaps me out of my fog and tells me to cut the lights because there was water all over the carpet..... so, no photo snapped.

10:32 Friday night- I notice some broken ornaments and begin to cry..... some of my Christopher Radko Shiny Bright ornaments...... my FAVORITES, but no sentimental ones were damaged, thank goodness.

11:00 Friday night- The tree is back up, all the water is soaked up, I'm exhausted and my bed is calling.

7:00 Saturday morning- I take all of the ornaments off the tree.

12:00 noon Saturday- Steve and I purchase a new tree stand.

1:00 Saturday afternoon- The tree is in the new stand...... it's extra sturdy now.

7:00 Saturday night- I begin putting the ornaments back on the tree.

Sunday night- The tree is still standing, all the lights are off except for the Christmas lights and my Sparkling Cinnamon Yankee Candle is burning...... and it's so Christmas-y and cozy in here.  I only wish it were cold enough for a fire in the fireplace.

Have you ever had your tree tip over?

Broken Christopher Radko? Quel nightmare! They are all so beautiful. Y'all really did get a great tree and the re-decorated version looks gorgeous!

We've never had a tree to tip over... this might be our year - I'm going to try the tree in a galvanized tub as the base. {Cross your fingers!} Your tree looks beautiful!! Isn't it fun when all of the lights are out except for the ones on the tree?

After ours fell over a couple of years ago and broke the stand, we bought a new stand too. This one is heavy-duty metal and huge, plus we secured it to a three foot square box built out of 2x6's (to raise it up for more room for presents).

When I had cats, it happened a couple of times and we had to tie it to the wall.

Your tree is Beautiful!

My parents used to buy a 10 foot tall tree every year and I think every year it would fall over at least once! They got to where they would get it up and then wait a day or two to let it settle before they decorated it.

I don't know why but for some reason this line made me laugh hysterically!

No, thankfully, we've never had our tree fall over. However, we haven't put up our real tree yet so there's still a chance it could happen...

I am glad none of the sentimental ornaments were broken.
